You love your puppy. You’re determined to be a responsible owner and get their training and socialisation right, but suddenly you have so many questions, and perhaps even a few “what have I done?” moments.
Maybe you’ve found yourself searching online for answers and advice, only to come away feeling even more overwhelmed.
Where should they be sleeping? What should you be training? Are they socialising properly? How do you stop them biting so much? How can they learn to settle when you’re not there? It’s a bit of a minefield! But that’s where I come in.
Patchwork Puppies was set up to give puppy owners the education, training and support they need to navigate puppyhood and adolescence with confidence.
It’s my mission to help you feel informed and confident about raising your puppy, so you can focus on what truly matters – forming a loving bond that lasts a lifetime.

Connection over correction
My approach centres on understanding your puppy as an individual and meeting them where they are, rather than enforcing obedience and correcting them for making mistakes. Your bond with your puppy is at the heart of everything we do.
Meaningful socialisation
Socialisation is not about having your puppy meet as many other dogs as possible. Your puppy will learn how to greet and interact with others appropriately, but also how to be neutral and calm, allowing them to go everywhere with you without the stress of reactivity or restlessness.
Support that’s personal
Every puppy, family and lifestyle is different. Support is tailored around you, with training specific to your puppy’s breed, temperament and developmental stage and homework that fits in with your routines.
Skills for real life
Training with me is not about being strict and doing obedience drills. It’s meaningful training that teaches your puppy the right choices to make in real-life situations. A Patchwork Puppy has the skillset to navigate the world alongside you, allowing you to live life with your puppy, rather than limiting your life and theirs.

Who Is Patchwork Puppies For?
Patchwork Puppies could be a great fit if you:
- Have a puppy aged 2-12 months.
- Have a small-medium breed puppy (est. adult size 6 – 18kg)
- Live in the Saltaire, Shipley, Baildon or Bingley area.
- Want to understand your puppy on a deeper level.

- Want to set your puppy up with strong training foundations and help prevent behaviour issues in the future.

Who might it not be right for?
Patchwork Puppies probably isn’t the right fit if you:
- Have a puppy of 13 months or older.
- Are looking for someone to ‘fix’ your puppy for you.
- Can’t commit a little time to training your puppy each day.
- Are looking for training that uses harsh corrections or punishment-based tools such as prong or electric collars.

Hi, I’m Niki. Dog Trainer, Daycare Provider ajd certified Family Dog Mediator. I’m passionate about dog behaviour and have spent the last 15+ years helping people raise their puppies into the wonderful companion dogs they were meant to be.
I’ve built a deep understanding of dogs over the years and am determined to use this to provide proper support and guidance for puppy owners who are so often left to figure things out on their own. My mission is to help you understand your unique puppy and give you the skills you need to help them reach their full potential.
